T3 has been a name in the hair world for a long time, thanks to its ever-popular curling and straightening irons, which are known to perform well and last forever. It felt inevitable until the genre jumped on the multiplayer bandwagon, and it did just that with great grace.
As more and more dupes come out, the gaps for new product to fill are getting smaller and smaller, but T3 has nailed two of the biggest gaps: storage and curl styling.
Before I get into the details, of course, it should be said up front that, like all other non-Dyson Airwrap multi-stylers, you have to change the wrapping barrels to get different wrapping directions. That said, simply pointing the tool upside down means you can change direction without changing the barrel. And trust me, it’s worth the trouble – the ceramic barrels in the Aire 360 produce really loose curls. it actually lasted all day. If your hair is not very popular, and curls are the reason you want a multi-styler, this is the one you should buy. All the other multi-stylers I’ve tested, including the FlexStyle and Airwrap, initially provide bouncy curls – but they look blown out within an hour.
Style time was with FlexStyle; the tool grew to 203 degrees Fahrenheit to keep things healthy, and the round brush was easy to brush my hair without swinging, with a size that was perfect for giving a lot of volume. This tool is also incredibly light, coming in at 1.2 pounds, compared to the FlexStyle and Airwrap, which both sit at around 1.5 pounds.
Now, please let me talk about the last case. FlexStyle does not come with a case in its basic kits. The Airwrap case is a tidy brick, but too big for me to want to use regularly. T3 has hit the sweet spot with a leather bag – it feels comfortable but functional, it has internal pockets so everything has its place, and the drawstring closure keeps your gear out of sight. It’s not a sad thing at all, so I happily keep it out in my room, making it easy to reach. again the shop.
For travelers and people looking for a diffuser as part of their multi-styling experience, T3 has just released an updated version that includes dual-voltage and a slightly shorter base. Without the diffuser, it’ll run you $349.99, making it $50 more than the OG Aire 360 (with the diffuser, it’ll cost you $359.99 — and while the diffuser is sold separately, it’s not compatible with the original Aire 360). For some people, it may be worth the extra cost, but in most cases, I still recommend the original. With the new model, I would expect the original to eventually be finished (it’s no longer on the T3 site), so I’ll be collecting it sooner rather than later.
