Release date and price
We haven’t heard an official release date for the 2026 Motorola Razr yet, but since last year’s Motorola Razr was launched in early-mid May, we’re expecting the same this year. As for the price, we guess they will stay the same (2025 Razr starts at $700) or get more expensive due to the global RAM shortage and other world events.
Motorola has it increased the value on other phones at a lower price The Moto G line more than their previous models, and it’s possible that the Razr line could follow.
Motorola’s UK website has launched Razr Fold pre-orders priced at £1,800 for the model with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage. Those pre-orders will be shipped to that country on May 6. However, pricing and availability will likely vary in the US market, which has yet to announce those details. To compare, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 it costs £1,799 for the 256GB model, and starts at $2,000 in the US.
When it comes to the Razr Plus and Razr Ultra, if last year’s prices are any indication, they’ll likely be around $1,000 or more.

Design and display
According to the latest rumors, the design of the 2026 Razr will probably be the same as its predecessor. It will have the famous clamshell design and a small Quick View display on the cover.
In terms of colors, Moto is expected to introduce new colors to the Razr lineup. Some rumors say it will be called hematite, green and pink, while others say it could be hematite, ice green and violet. All these colors appear Pantone collaboration for Motorola. Leaker Evan Blass recently posted rendered images of what could be the base colors of the Razr. Razr Ultra, according to Android Headlines, is expected to be delivered in Alcantara blue of the East, cocoa wood of Pantone and violet of Africa.
Another very interesting rumor is that the new Razrs will not only come in new colors but also new textures. We hear they’ll come in cloth-like, carbon-fiber-like textures and one additional finish that’s yet to be revealed. Obviously, Sparkling Green will have a carbon-fiber texture while Hematite will have a fiber texture.
Unfortunately for those who prefer to hold thin hands, there are speculations that the 2026 Razr Ultra will actually be bigger than its predecessor. Leaker OnLeaks says the phone will measure 3.46 by 2.92 by 0.62 inches when folded and 6.74 by 2.92 by 0.3 inches when unfolded. That makes it just 0.02 inches thicker in its unfolded form compared to the 2025 Razr. (The 2025 Razr, by comparison, is 0.28 inches thick unfolded and 0.62 inches thick folded.) While 0.02 inches is a smidge thick, it’s not as good as you were hoping for. Razr to be a slim handset.
To wit, the new Razr is said to have the same specifications as the 2025 version. It is expected to have a 6.9-inch OLED display when unfolded and a 3.63-inch OLED panel to be used when folded.
Motorola has added a variety of accessories to the 2025 Razr line, such as Swarovski crystals in the Pantone Ice Melt pattern on the phone.
Camera upgrade
Recent rumors seem to indicate that the base Motorola 2026 Razr could have a camera upgrade. The 2025 version has a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide. The new spec, however, brings those specs up to Razr Plus level.
Android Authority has heard that it could have a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom. We haven’t heard much about the specs of the 2026 Razr Plus and Ultra, however.
The cameras of the next Razr base may be improved, according to rumors.

Rumors of specifications and performance
Eagle-eyed people on the Internet recently spotted a listing of the Motorola Razr 2026 on TENAA, China’s Hardware Certification Center. The list reveals some important details. According to Phone Arena, the new Moto Razr may come with larger amounts of RAM — 8, 12, 16 or 18GB RAM.
Other specifications include an Octa-core 2.75 GHz processor, a 4,500-mAh battery and 33W charging power. It can also come in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage variants.
While the storage and RAM options sound impressive, especially with RAM shortages around the world, Android Police warns that these upgrades may not be available in the US. The outlet points out that last year’s international Razr models included higher storage and RAM specs than what was available in the US. Motorola often releases high-end phones in other countries, such as A Motorola signature. It is not clear if the specs seen here are for the Chinese market only.
The book-style Razr Fold will join Motorola’s line of flexible Razr phones this summer.
Motorola Razr vs. Razr Plus vs. Razr Ultra vs. Razr Fold
Apart from the above leaks, we haven’t heard much about the 2026 Razr Plus. That said, it makes sense that the Plus will have more premium specs compared to the base Razr. As for the Ultra, it looks like it might have the same processor as last year. According to Android Headlines, the Razr Ultra appears to have a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. However, Android Headlines also says it could go with a bigger battery — a 5,000-mAh battery, to be exact. That’s about a 6% bump from its predecessor.
That’s why, for many, the most exciting handset in the upcoming Moto lineup is the book style The Razr Fold.
