All Gemini announcements from Google I/O 2026

I Google I/O 2026 Keynote is already on the books, and Google has more to share. Every event of the main note continued about two hours and it was full of new product and feature announcements.

With everything revealed at I/O, AI was clearly Google’s focus, with news about Gemini taking center stage.

Here’s everything Google announced about Gemini at I/O 2026.

Gemini 3.5

Google announced a new family of AI models, Gemini 3.5at I/O 2026. The first model to launch is the Gemini 3.5 Flash, with the Gemini 3.5 Pro coming out next month.

According to Google, Gemini 3.5 Flash is four times faster than other benchmark models in tokens per second (TPS), which measures the response time of the model. Google says it also outperforms many borderline models in key benchmarks, including the Gemini 3.1 Pro.

During the keynote, Google announced that Gemini 3.5 Flash is now the default model that powers the Gemini app and AI mode for Google search.

Gemini Omni

Gemini 3.5 isn’t the only new family of models announced at I/O 2026. Google also announced Gemini Omnimodel of the new world. At the end of the keynote, Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis described Omni as an important step towards general artificial intelligence, or AGI.

The first model in the family, the Gemini Omni Flash, is on display at the event.

According to Google, unlike text-to-video AI models, Gemini Omni is multi-modal in both input and output. Users can input text, audio, images, and video into the model when creating their content and, using Gemini’s “real world knowledge,” Omni will generate realistic and scientifically accurate content.

Gemini Omni Flash is rolling out today to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers within the Gemini app and Google Flow. Gemini Omni Flash will also be rolling out to YouTube Shortcuts and the YouTube Create app for free to users later this week.

The Gemini Spark

The Gemini Spark is an ambitious product presented at I/O. Google calls Spark “your personal AI agent” and it includes a range of Google products, and eventually more than 30 third-party tools with MCP, such as Adobe, Dropbox, and Uber.

Acting as an AI agent, Spark can combine important emails from your inbox with files from Documents to create an update for your manager.

Notably, Spark runs entirely within the cloud and does not require any hardware.

Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US will see Gemini Spark roll out within Gmail and Chat next week.

Speaking of Google AI Ultra subscriptionthe company announced that it is dropping the starting price of its Ultra subscription to $200 per month and introducing a lower-cost Ultra tier of $99 per month.

Previously, users had to pay a whopping $250 per month to access Gemini’s latest features like AI inbox.

Neural Expressive

Finally, the Gemini app gets a new design language, which Google calls Neural Expressive. The new design language includes more fluid animations, haptic feedback, and bold colors, per Google. Neural Expressive also integrates Gemini Live’s voice experience into the main UI, meaning users no longer have to switch back and forth.

Google says it’s rolling out globally to Gemini desktop, Android, and iOS apps.
