A quick look at the best MacBook deals from Amazon’s Big Spring Sale:
Amazon’s Third Big Spring Sale in a row will end on March 31. And while the sale event focuses on seasonal essentials like cleaning supplies and outdoor gear, it also hosts some attractive deals on must-have tech — including Apple’s flagship products like MacBooks. As Mashable’s resident laptop expert, I’m on the side.
Apple actually just updated its MacBook earlier this month, announcing updated MacBook Airs and Pros in addition to the new budget MacBook Neo. Most configurations of this new release are seeing their first (minor) discounts during the Big Spring Sale, while their predecessors are priced from $300 off.

Remember that Apple has discontinued the last generation MacBooks, which means they will only be available on the refurbished market if the list of third-party sellers dries up. So, if you see a great deal on an M4 MacBook Air or Pro on Amazon this week, don’t wait too long to add it to your cart. I think they will sell out there long before the Prime Day sale. We’re already seeing some listings disappear and some auction prices go up, so it’s best to stay informed and grab those deals while they’re available.

Why I love you
The M4 MacBook Air may be the last generation laptop, but it’s still an incredibly powerful ultraportable. (In our testing, it seemed much faster than that a lot pricier Windows laptops.) It has a 12MP Center Stage web camera, a Liquid Retina display, and 18 hours of battery life like its new M5 counterpart, which offers slightly faster performance and new wireless connectivity. This 15-inch configuration has 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage like the base M5 model, which costs $100 more. It is worth noting that some 13-inch versions of the MacBook Air have already been sold. Don’t miss this one while it’s available and marked down to $300.

Why I love you
Nine bucks doesn’t count as a discount, but this is the best MacBook Neo deal I’ve seen outside of the Apple Store itself. (You can get $100 there, but only if you’re a college student, a parent of one, or a school faculty.) This colorful little laptop has the same premium aluminum construction as any other MacBook, and it boasts one impressively impressive performance; for basic daily tasks like web browsing, it’s as fast as the M4 MacBook Air. This particular model comes with Touch ID. It’s worth noting, though, that the highly coveted yellow and pink editions are back at full price today, so you can only get that $9 discount on the silver and indigo versions.

Why I love you
The MacBook Pro has more ports and a brighter, smoother display than the MacBook Air. It is also better for handling heavy loads (like video editing) over a long period of time as it has fans. I recommend it as a development option for power users such as content creators and developers. The base configuration of the M5 MacBook Pro has 1TB of built-in storage, though that version went up in price again today after being marked down to $1,580. It’s now up to $1,649, which is still $50 off list price. But if you can’t spare some storage, the 512GB version is $1,549.
