Spencer Pratt appears to be admitting the election with a violent video threatening Bass and Raman

Spencer Pratt released a video on Friday in which he appeared to concede his loss in the Los Angeles primary — then went on a broad field against Council Member Nithya Raman, Mayor Karen Bass and the city’s district one of whom will be elected to lead.

Pratt began the three-minute video by saying “part of my mission to save Los Angeles is coming to an end.” The video was less about conceding the election and more about Pratt’s plan to continue fighting the mayor and councilman using his new national platform.

“I didn’t get into this because of political power, I got into it to expose this corrupt machine and nothing has changed,” he said.

“Now Angelenos are stuck with two tyrants facing all their problems and must choose between the dumb and the dumb…The city will fall into the abyss.”

The video was full of ad hominem attacks. He called Bass and Raman “demons,” “comic animals” and “rogue communists,” telling Angelenos to “choose your demon.”

Neither the Bass nor Raman campaigns immediately responded to a request for comment on the video, nor did Pratt’s campaign.

“We have other recordings of one of your senior students doing and saying something that would put him in disgrace,” Pratt said. “So, Karen, Nithya, ask yourself if it’s possible that one of your employees might have a record of you doing or saying something that would force you to resign in disgrace? I hope you sleep well at night for the next five months.”

The video appeared to be Pratt’s only outdoor campaign, where he filmed across the country highlighting what he called the city’s failure to address homelessness and the Palisades fire and recovery.

Pratt took about 26% of the vote, falling short of Raman, who won 29%, and Bass, who took first place with 34%.

Despite his strong performance, in third place, and national support from conservative voices, a recent May poll conducted by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, sponsored by The Times, showed that Pratt was viewed unfavorably by about 57% of voters in the city of Los Angeles – the same percentage as Bass, who has been mayor for almost four years. Only 25% of Angelenos viewed him favorably, the poll found, in line with his final vote percentage.

But Pratt said in the video that he has no desire to disappear from the public eye, and that his loss will allow him to be brave as he no longer needs to worry about “upsetting CNN viewers.”

“I don’t have campaigning rules that are tightening my muscles now. It’s a war,” he said.

Pratt continued in the video to paint Los Angeles as a dysfunctional place, saying that violence in the city would cause many businesses to close, reduce city revenue and force Los Angeles to cut back on services, leading to “more jails, fewer firefighters, and less police.”

Pratt concluded the video by saying that Bass and Raman should be concerned about potential FBI raids on their homes and offices.

“Do you think your election will stop me?” Pratt said at the end of the video with a picture that read “WAR.”
