The takeover of Rosemaad Road ended with four people hospitalized with gunshot wounds

Four people were shot Sunday morning during a roadblock in the city of Rosemead, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.

Temple Station sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a carjacking at the intersection of Del Mar and Garvey Avenues, on the city’s northwest edge, at 1:47 a.m. Sunday. The intersection, where cars do donuts and the like, is surrounded by restaurants and small businesses.

There was a shooting incident during the takeover, four victims were shot, according to the sheriff’s department. It is unclear whether sheriff’s deputies were present when the shots were fired.

All four victims were transported to local hospitals and are in stable condition.

It is not yet clear what led to the shooting and who was shooting. Sheriff’s detectives are working to identify the suspects and determine the events that led to the shooting.

In a text written on X, who was running for the position of mayor of the city of Los Angeles, Spencer Pratt, also included a video of the takeover of the road where a shooting happened in the middle of a car full of passengers who were playing donuts. The car was surrounded by a large crowd. When a gunshot is heard, the crowd quickly disperses or hides, according to the video.

It’s not clear if the video Pratt reposted to his account was filmed in Rosemead, but he said in the post that the takeovers happen in Los Angeles all the time.

“When I’m mayor, everyone in this video will be wearing an orange jump suit filling potholes, picking up trash and polishing the streets of LA until they’re clean enough for taxpaying Angelenos to eat,” the post said.

The shooting marks the latest shooting within Los Angeles County that resulted in an injury or property damage. In March, a series of foreclosures occurred in downtown Los Angeles, Harbor Gateway and the South Los Angeles area. The first incident prompted the Los Angeles Police Department to focus its resources on preventing and responding to these incidents.

On March 10, Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass said the LAPD would be using patrol cars, cavalry, foot patrols and undercover patrols in downtown LA to respond to seizures.

The announcement came after a takeover at the nearby Circa LA apartments, just 200 meters from the Crypto.com Arena, spilled into the lobby and ended in assault with a deadly weapon, battery and vandalism.

In the video that captured the incident, people could be seen throwing punches and shoving a man wearing a suit who was seen working at the mall. Another person wearing a black hoodie and mask was filmed using a metal wall to smash through the glass windows of the lobby as bystanders screamed and filmed him. Others were caught looting furniture in this building.

Two weeks later, three things were taken in 24 hours, another incident turned into a crowd of people who blocked and climbed on top of a Metro bus, preventing it from moving and blocking Metro maintenance workers who were inside at the time.
