The 178th Grand National is upon us, with 34 declared runners to face the fearsome fence of the world’s most famous horse race.

With last year’s winner Nick Rockett withdrawing earlier this week following a cough, 2024 champion I Am Maximus has emerged as this year’s favourite. The French-bred bay gelding is one of eight horses in the field from the stable of Irish trainer Willie Mullins.

Meanwhile, Panic Attack, trained by Dan Skelton, is expected to become the first mare in 75 years to win the 4-mile race.

The Grand National takes place at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. Horses are set to enter under the starting orders Saturday, April 11 of 4pm BST UK local time (8 am PT or 11 am ET in the US and Canada, too 1 am AEST Sunday, April 12, in Australia).

If you’re traveling abroad and want to see all the action at Aintree while you’re away from home, a A VPN can help improve your privacy and security when streaming.

It encrypts your traffic and prevents your internet service provider from throttling your speed, and can be useful when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks while traveling, adding an extra layer of security to your devices and logins. VPNs are legal in many countries, including the US and Canada, and can be used for legitimate purposes such as improving online privacy and security.

However, some streaming services may have policies that restrict the use of a VPN to access region-specific content. If you’re considering a VPN for streaming, check the platform’s terms of service to ensure compliance.

If you choose to use a VPN, follow the provider’s installation instructions to ensure you are connected securely and comply with applicable laws and service agreements. Some streaming platforms may block access when a VPN is detected, so make sure your streaming subscription allows VPN use.
