Amazon’s Big Day of Summer Sale May Be Going This Year Here’s What to Expect and How to Be Prepared

Amazon’s Prime Day sale is one of the biggest shopping events of the year. But in 2026, Amazon will reportedly change the dates of its annual sales, according to Bloomberg.

Rumor has it that the online retailer is moving the event from July to June, which means you can get your hands on some amazing deals very quickly — a big win if you didn’t get everything on your wish list during the company’s Big Spring sale. But it also leaves you less time to budget and less time for your competitors to plan any sales at once, as many have done in past Prime Day events.

This story is part of Amazon Prime DayCNET’s guide to everything you need to know and how to get the best deals.

It is possible that competitors will strive to be ready by an early June date, or they may choose to continue in July as usual. It’s a great time to promote back-to-school gear and it usually lasts right after the Fourth of July sales, so it may not be worth chasing the Amazon Prime Day trip, at least for 2026. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

Prime Day has been held in July since 2015. However, this wouldn’t be the first change we’ve seen. In 2020, it was moved to October due to COVID-19, and the following year, in 2021, the event took place in June. In 2022, the retailer held events in July and October. In fact, the retailer extended the 48-hour sale to four full days last year, which means we could see a similar program rolled out this year, too.

While you don’t have to be a Prime member to shop during the sale, many of the best Prime Day deals have previously been exclusive to Prime members. If you have thought sign up for prime membershipthis may be the time. Prime membership is complimentary many benefits.
